E-OP16: A 16 dry-contact port expansion unit 

with opto-isolated inputs 

Expand your AKCP base environmental monitoring appliance unit with more dry-contact ports. Should you need more dry-contact ports on your securityProbe or sensorProbeX+, a cost effective way is to add E-opto16 expansion units. 

E-opto16 is an expansion module that has 16x opto-isolated dry-contact inputs and is connected to any of the RJ-45 expansion ports located on the front panel of securityProbe or sensorProbeX+ base units. E-opto16 is connected to the base environmental monitoring appliance unit using a standard CAT-5 cable.

If your main device is some distance from the contacts you wish to monitor, save money and time in cable infrastructure by installing E-Opto16 close to the contacts you wish to monitor and run only a single CAT-5 cable back to the base unit. A wide variety of equipment that generates an output signal or voltage can be connected to each of the 2-wire dry-contact inputs, with 16 input LED status being displayed on the front panel.

Up to 1000 feet cable length can be used between securityProbe or sensorProbeX+ base units and E-opto16.

There is no limit to how many E-modules can be connected to a single base environmental monitoring appliance unit - it depends only on the number of sensors connected. A maximum of 500 data points can be monitored by securityProbe 5E base unit.

A typical application for E-opto16 would be to connect the outputs of an alarm panel to each of the 16 dry-contact inputs allowing the AKCP base environmental monitoring appliance unit full-featured built in notification system to be integrated into these alarm panels, or other systems that output a voltage.

Additional expansion units can be daisy chained with up to 1000 feet of standard CAT-5 cable between each unit, using the E-Out / E-In ports on E-opto16.
