UCTxx: Custom-length* ultra-cold temperature sensor
up to 60 feet*
This ultra-cold temperature sensor is suitable for monitoring a wider range of temperatures from -328° to 302°F (-200° to +150°C).
The ultra-cold sensor is based on a resistance temperature detector (RTD) made from platinum. As temperature changes so does the resistance of the metal. This is precisely measured to give a temperature reading.
The accuracy of the sensor is ±0.4°F (±0.2°C) and it is typically used for ultra-cold shipments such as the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna.
UCT15 is a PT100-type* of platinum-wire temperature sensor that is based on the principle of measuring the resistance of a platinum wire. It has an accurate voltage applied to it and the platinum wire's resistance would be a known value. The ambient temperature affects the temperature of the wire and thus the resistance is measured.
This sensor is compatible with the sensorProbe+ platform only.
* Ordering Guide
Order 1x Ultra-Cold Temperature Sensor, 15 Feet [UCT15]
Order as many extended-feet in length to match the total cable-length that you need
Example: If you need a 40-foot long Ultra-Cold Temperature Sensor, you should order:
1x Ultra-Cold Temperature Sensor, 15 Feet [UCT15]
39x Extra Extra 1-Foot Fixed Cable-Length for Ultra-Cold Temperature Sensor [UCTxx]
This will get you a 40-Foot Fixed-Length Ultra-Cold Temperature Sensor.
Note: A fixed-length temperature sensor is not designed to be field-extended. Order a custom length if you need a longer cable length. AKCP does not recommend connecting the temperature sensor though patch panels, or using RJ-45 couplers to extend it.
* PT100-type means the resistance is 100 ohms at a temperature of 0 degrees C.
