The DisplayPort Hotplug Maintainer emulates a DisplayPort display (sink device) by maintaining a hotplug signal between a video source and sink/display. When used with a KVM/video switch, the DP-HP-MNTR-SRC eliminates the need to reconfigure monitor settings when switching between computers.

The DP-HP-MNTR-SRC unit is designed to work with KVM and video switches. Each computer / source connected* to the KVM or video switch would need to have a DP-HP-MNTR-SRC unit connected to it.  Dual-head DisplayPort sources would require two DP-HP-MNTR-SRC units (one at each DisplayPort port of the source).
