SM-EDP EDID emulator is designed to help overcome EDID related issues that occur when using ProAV devices and KVM switches, extenders, and splitters.
SM-EDP copies the EDID of the desired DisplayPort display and connects directly to the DisplayPort source to ensure that the EDID is not lost in connections between devices such as splitters and extenders.
SM-EDP unit sends an EDID from its table or the programmed EDID from the monitor to the video source.
The main purpose for SM-EDP unit is to ensure the source sends video out when the monitor is not directly connected to the source such as when using a splitter (multiple monitors) or an extender (remote monitor). Such equipment may cause the video source to not send the video out.
