RTAFHD3-12: All-in-one temperature/airflow/humidity/dew-point sensor (12 feet)
provides multiple remote environment readings as a complete package
Built to remotely monitor computer cabinet or server room conditions, remote temperature/airflow/humidity/dew-point sensor (RTAFHD3) provides real-time values and feeding data back to the Watchdog environmental monitoring appliance for data logging and alarming.
Use to monitor temperature and humidity to identify hot spots and adjust the ambient temperature of your data center to reduce cooling power consumption while increasing efficiency within ASHRAE guidelines. Set multiple alarms and get alerts via email, SMS, SNMP or voice phone call.
This is an instant 'Plug & Play' sensor via one of the standard RJ-12 jacks on any Watchdog environmental monitor. Watchdog environmental monitoring appliance cycles through the digital sensors to collect and log new readings. Custom alarms are triggered when a sensor value falls above or below a user-defined threshold. Alarm notifications are sent through email or SNMP.
Watchdog digital sensors such as this RTAFHD3 communicate with Watchdog environmental monitors through a digital serial protocol. On those units that support digital sensors - up to 16 can be added by using splitters. Watchdog environmental monitor auto detects the sensor type and identifies it on the web interface. Each digital sensor can be given a "friendly" name that can be set by the user.
Common Sensor Locations
• Air-conditioning inlet (return air)
• Air-conditioning output (vent)
• Ambient room temperature
• Internal cabinet temperature
• Outside (sensor needs to be kept dry)
• Refrigeration units (1 to 3°C)
